Our Centennial Celebration was held June 17th-18th.
On June 17th and 18th, 2016 was the Chapters 100th year celebration of the Beta Xi Chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity at the University of New Mexico. A true milestone. Our brothers, scattered worldwide, have helped and continue to help our communities, the university, businesses and families in many ways.
We are blessed with the successes of our brothers. The Fraternity must have their continued support. We have the opportunity to pass on to our future brother's the opportunity we once had. The Sigma Chi ideals continue to shape and mold the undergraduate’s lives as our young brethren pursue their futures. Again, image for a moment how your life changed as a result of becoming a part of the Sigma Chi family.
The Awards Banquet was held at the Crown Plaza located at the corner of University Blvd & Menaul.
Over 200 people attended the Grand Event. Details will be posted soon. Thanks to all the Brothers who invested the time to come and all the family members who also attended. Three Grand officers: Grand Consul, Grand Tribune and Grand Trustee of our International fraternity were in attendance.
Lee Morgan, the Chapter Advisor was presented with the Order of Constantine. He is the 4th recipient of this award from Beta Xi since our founding in 1916.
Paul Garson was the Lead Brother working on the event. Paul is the one who planned and brought Grand Chapter to Albuquerque in 1995.
Our beautiful house on the hill. 1855 Sigma Chi Road. Thanks to Gary and David Allen who have dedicated over 25 years to the upkeep of the house and yard. The house is now 70 years old and needs an influx of funds to make it the diamond it once was in 1952. This house has been home to over 1800 undergraduates. It's a place full of memories. Since recolonization in 2008, Sigma Chi has initiated another 200 + Brothers into the Order.
